  3. this is the best poem I like
"Ekla chalo re.." - Rabindranath Tagore
    ----------------------------------------------------
Jodi Tor Dak Soone Keu Na Asse
    Tobe Ekla Chalo re
Ekla Chalo Ekla Chalo Ekla Chalore
Jodi Keu Katha Na Kai Ore Ore O Abhaga
Jodi Sabai Thake Mukh Firae Sabai Kare Bhay
    Tabe Paran Khule
O Tui Mukh Fute Tor Maner Katha Ekla Balo re
Jodi Sabai Fire Jai Ore Ore O Abhaga
Jodi Gahan Pathe Jabar Kale Keu Feere Na Chay
    Tobe Pather Kanta
O Tui Rakta Makha Charan Tale Ekla Dalo re
Jodi Alo Na Dhare Ore Ore O Abhaga
Jodi Jharr Badale Andhar Rate Duar Deay Ghare
    Tobe Bajranale
Apaan Buker Panjar Jaliey Nieye Ekla Jalo re
"Ekla chalo re.." meaning just walk alone... So here you go with the english translation:
If they answer not to thy call walk alone,
If they are afraid and cower mutely facing the wall,
    O thou of evil luck,
open thy mind and speak out alone.
If they turn away, and desert you when crossing the wilderness,
    O thou of evil luck,
trample the thorns under thy tread,
and along the blood-lined track travel alone
If they do not hold up the light when the night is troubled with storm,
    O thou of evil luck,
with the thunder flame of pain ignite thy own heart
    and let it burn alone.
    by Rabindranath taigore

How Universe has formed when there was no matter???? why we discuss Zero to Infinity when we are in same still in the basic question???????????

  6. Today dated 15th of Agusut 2009, I had gone to University of Indonesia with my 17 students of ESS for Fresh water Quality Monitoring. We collected biotic and abiotic components from three lake in campus and after examine and analysing we found that PH value was around 8 in all lakes and vivsibility of water was only 20 cm. after analysing all other factor we found lake are very polluted. Amoun all three lake Puspa lake was most polluted.

  7. Today 16th August i just show some Indian news chennel and surprise to see , so this came to my mind
    Vs
Do you think is there any similarity between Dr. Kalam and Shahrukh Khan?
U will not belive that our Government and Media think Shasrukh is more important than Dr. Kalam.
When Shahrukh khan was asked by America for security check in one of their Airport Our Indian Government and Media agitated it like anything. immediately Govt. ask for a clarification to America and Whole day it was the main news in all media and our Media gave preference to Sharukh's news more than the news of Independence day celebration and Priminister's address from red fort.
Same when Dr. Kalam was asked by America for the same govt. came to know about this incident after one and half month and there was no coverage for this news in media.
So don’t u think Government and Media of India think that Shahrukh is more important that Dr. Kalam.
Becoz we dont think so. So im sending this mail to you becouse i belive u will forward this mail to many so that no body ever try to forget Dr. Kalam's contribution to India.
    Yours
    Dr. Manish Semwal

    Activity Title
“Freshwater Quality Monitoring at University of Indonesia”

    ReplyDelete
  9. Background
In this activity students will investigate how much pollution has affected the condition of a named freshwater ecosystem (e.g. lake) using an ecological approach. Through this simple method of investigation it is hoped to give a hands on experience of learning for students, and the results will be useful for them and also for whom it may concern and also for further studies.
University of Indonesia has 5 lakes, these lakes act as a water reservoir for the town of Depok. The lakes get their waters from surrounding small rivers and drains. Consequently, these lakes are prone to water pollution. This location will provide the best condition and also experience to students to do freshwater ecosystem studies.

    Objective
To investigate the freshwater quality of several lakes at University of Indonesia

    Description of activity
    1. Freshwater Quantitative Measurement
Students will take the quantitative measurement of the lake, measurements such as; dissolved oxygen, pH, temperature, transparency etc. These measurements will provide the basis for discussion to analyse the condition of the ecosystem
    2. Freshwater Invertebrate Biological Indicator
Students will learn how to identify several freshwater invertebrate biological indicators in the lake. These animals will be the key for students to know the water quality of the lake.
    3. Plankton collection
Students will collect samples of plankton using plankton net. These planktons with its particular characteristics will help students to determine the water quality of the lake.

  10. Today 2nd Sept. 09 at 2.55 it was earthquake in Jakarta with 7.2 magnitude. It was realy scary that time I just reached home and was with my daughter and wife. i was in playfull mood with my daughter sodenly we feel like whole building is hunging and i was unable to hold myself. but good part was that my daughter was laughing. Tough it was scary but after looing to her face i realise that we have to ran away. I took our passports and run outside, We are staying in 16th floor and we didnt use lift to go down. I feel it little nostalgic. though many time we felt eartquake when we were in India as my home is in beneith of Himalaya. but here the feeling was more scary........

  11. trip to volcanic area and surprise
I went to a field trip with my diploma students to Mt. Merapi, Mt Bromo (Both are among the most active volcano of the world) and nearby areas to study- Biodiversity, Soil Sampling and testing, volcanic activities and its effects on societies.
Students conducted ecological survey; each student collected more than 20 samples of plants and 10 samples of insects. I measure four variables ( Colour, PH, temperature, and moisture) in various soil types collected from various part of study area. We had taken all samples to lab and will examine other variables soon in labs.
The most surprising for me in this trip was Lapindo Mad Flow. I never study about any such incident before. It was a one of the biggest example of how human is reacting with natural environment. An oil company was drilling the area and in place of crude oil mud erupted from the vent like a Geyser and from then its continuously erupting. A settlement is already submerge below still the flow is continue though government made a wall around but it will going to be filled soon. This is one of the greatest tragedy and hazard I ever study.
I shared many things with my students and I learn many things from them.
